Box Brownie camera

I dismantled an old Box Brownie camera and its case, carefully taking it apart and laying out all the separate components. Some were made into drawing tools, others were bound into bundles or mini assemblages, which I used as reference for drawing, mark-making and printing on a variety of papers and fabric (lightweight, heavyweight and pre-used). I also took photographs prior to deconstruction, which I incorporated as collage.

I made a series of small mixed-media collages, combining the deconstructed camera parts with the drawings and photographs. I introduced old slide mounts, which acted as frames, and vintage photographs relating to the old camera. Each mini composition can be presented individually but I chose to display them as a series of multiple units.
